The principal responsibilities essentially include:

-        Performing Grid code compliance studies (Steady state, Power quality & Dynamic studies) for integration of renewable energy to the Grid. Grid Integration Study and Grid Code Analysis.

-        Responsible for data collection, validation and modelling of electrical network in power system simulation tools.

-        Performing electrical power system studies such as Load flow analysis, Short circuit analysis, Reactive power compensation analysis, Harmonic analysis, Dynamic analysis, arc flash studies, LVRT/ HVRT compliance etc.

-        Developing models of renewable energy/ Utility transmission & distribution network in PSSE, DigSilent, PSCAD and various other power system tools.

-        Preparing technical report for the studies conducted.

-        Must provide Pre-Bid and Post-Bid support in electrical design.

-        Insulation and co-ordination studies in EMTP software’s for determining equipment insulation levels. Assessing surge arrester requirements and resonance issues.

-        Conduct interaction with management to check progress against plan. Prepare draft reports and presentations with study results to the management and stakeholders, participate in decision making support as and when needed.

Candidate Specification:

-        M.Tech in power system analysis from reputed institute.

-        Thorough knowledge of electric power system network analysis, transmission planning and assessment techniques, in particular in the practice of transient stability analysis using PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, EMTP-RV or similar tools.

-        Knowledge in following would be added advantage:
a. python scripting for PSS/E simulation automation.
b. Fortran scripting for PSS/E dynamic model development.
c. PSCAD & EMT studies and EPCL programming is a plus.

Job Description:

The principal responsibilities essentially include:

• Plan and co-ordinate all aspects of the construction process with the EPC contractor.
• To understand the project drawings, SLDs, Installation designs aspect of primary equipment like a transformer, Circuit Breakers, CT, CVT, PT, LA, HT/C&R panel of substation.
• To ensure the construction work as per approved design and drawing for all phases of engineering construction relating to equipment erection and testing.
• Daily monitoring of construction progress, considering quality concerns, and ensuring jobsite safety considerations are addressed. It will also include the monitoring of overall transmission line work (33kV to 220kV) and bay-end substation construction work.
• Suggest client/EPC for work sequence to be followed as per site conditions and additional resources requirement if any for improving the construction progress.       
• Conducting weekly review meeting at site with EPC and client representative to assess the construction progress as per schedule and to understand the bottlenecks of various activities. Prepare MOM for each meeting and keep their record for future reference.
• Perform all daily inspection to achieve the quality of construction indicated in the drawings and specifications for all works performed by the contractor.
• Review of approved electrical drawings received at site and intimate the SEI design team about correction or modification required (if any as per site condition).
• Inspection of incoming material on random basis at site level before installation. Further, verification of all the technical documents such as Material Test Certificates (MTC), MDCC, factory test reports and warranty related documents. If found any issues during inspection, then prepare material inspection report for the faulty material.
• Cary out inspection for erection methodology and testing for all electrical equipment and ensures construction activity at the site are as per approved Method of Statement (MOS) and Field Quality (FQP) and testing plan.
• To ensure the erection, testing and commissioning of the all electrical equipment as per approved FQP or OEM installation and testing guidelines. 
• Ensuring effective site management and discipline to ensure safe execution of the project.
• Testing of all substation equipment viz., Transformer, Potential transformer, Lightning arresters, Circuit breaker, Isolators at site and Manufacturers place (if required). 
• Timely submission of Weekly Progress Report (WPR) or Construction Monitoring report (CMR), Non-conformity report (NCR), Site Observation Report (SOR), Project Quality Report (PQR), to head office.
• Produce project schedules and updates suited to accomplish contract requirements to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to support construction activities.
• Provide the reliable and comprehensive project reports to the project team advising critical activities, schedule updates, and related project needs.
• Coordinate with the consultant’s representative and site In-charge for inspection and meeting about quality lapses including the closure of NCRs.
